DISCLAIMER

Some people tell the truth only when they've been caught lying, but I'll tell you the truth right off. I am not Australian -- never was, and never will be, unless by some miracle I make enough money someday to move to Oz. I might go for a visit someday, but I couldn't move there permanently, mostly because I would miss my family and friends too much. Besides, the bugs there are huge -- or so I hear.

Anyway...my not being a native of Australia will explain my imperfect use of strine (Australian slang). Please pardon my mistakes in that department. Why am I blogging about living in Australia and being married to a cute Aussie guy -- er, bloke -- if I'm not Australian? Well, I'm fascinated by the culture, mostly because I've been following Russell Crowe's acting career for several years.

The bit about being married to Danny Perry, a fair-dinkum Aussie jackaroo, was inspired by a picture I saw in a 1988 National Geographic. I just fell head over heels for this guy the minute I saw him! LOL! Then jokingly one day I scanned the picture from the magazine and posted it on my other "real" blog, http://maryscraziness.blogspot.com/. It was mostly because I was getting teased by my best friend and her father (who together make up at least half of my blog readers/commenters) about not wanting to date or not having a boyfriend or some such nonsense. In reply I put his picture up there under the title, "My Future Aussie Husband." Hilarity and chaos ensued thereafter, and thus this blog was born.

There they are, y'all! Danny Perry and his faithful dog Mate! Well, this is as they were back in 1988. I beg Danny's pardon and sincerely hope he doesn't mind his piccie being broadcast over the Internet. And that he doesn't mind that I think he's cute (and that I sort of appropriated him for my alter ego, Jess Trebanna, whose blog this shall be).

Speaking of my alter ego...the pic you will find if you look at my profile is NOT, repeat, **NOT** me. (It's not that I'm repulsively ugly or some such thing, but only that I never post my picture on the Internet.) The picture is actually of the fabulous Pauley Perrette, who can be seen as Abby Sciuto in the Tuesday-night primetime drama NCIS (my current fave show). I am not implying any insult whatsoever to Pauley; just the opposite. I think she is gorgeous, funny, and talented -- therefore her picture wound up on my blog. If Pauley ever reads this (ha!), I beg that she will forgive me for using her picture. By the way, Pauley has her own blog on the site I embedded above. If you are over 16 or thereabouts, check it out! Otherwise -- leave it alone for now. Pauley would agree, I think. ;)

OK...that's all I can think of to say in the disclaimer. Except that...I never claimed to be funny, so don't sue me because I'm not.

:D

Hugs!!
